Deliberately Accidentally In Love!
An Arshi/Arhi fanfiction!
by: Agfishgill ;)

The message was clear, written strikingly across the mirror in bright red lipstick.

'Meet me on the terrace.'

Khushi felt a surge of giddiness travel through her, and for reasons unbeknownst to her, a blush coloured her milky cheeks. He wanted to meet her on the terrace? Perhaps, Arnav was going to finally tell her what he had been hinting at all night?

After all, he had said he needed to talk to her. Khushi felt her heartbeat speed up and the "dhak dhaks" begin again. What could he want to say to her? He hadn't looked angry or at all like the Laad Governor he usually was. Khushi felt a smile break out over her face as she wrung her dupatta around between her nimble fingers. She whipped about, with the full intention of heading straight towards the roof, and hurried out of the room, too caught up within her own thoughts to even notice an approaching Anjali until the two collided.

"Are! Khushiji! Are you okay?" Anjali asked, grinning slyly, as she grabbed onto Khushi to steady her, in the same way Khushi had held onto Anjali.

"Anjaliji. Ji, I- I'm fine." Khushi said quickly, averting her eyes away from Anjali. Here she was, getting so excited to talk to Arnav when she was keeping such a secret from his family.

'But that secret would destroy them.'  whispered a voice in her head and, once again, Khushi felt herself drowning in the throngs of the internal turmoil that enveloped her whenever she was within Anjali or Shyam's proximity. What should she do!? She had seen Anjali's distress over the mangalsutra, how madly in love she was with her husband. How could Khushi be responsible for her anguish? And Arnav, what would she say to him? How would he react? Would he blame her for his brother-in-law's wandering eyes? No, he would never. She may be wrong, but she had sensed a change in his behaviour towards her. A change in the air that surrounded them. Something between them had changed. She just wasn't sure what. Still, Khushi knew that he'd be furious that she hadn't told him beforehand
and had allowed his Di to be deceived for longer.

"Khushiji! Are you listening?" Khushi gasped, as she felt Anjali's hand on her shoulder and glanced into Anjali's wide and slightly concerned eyes.

"Ji, voh- Sorry! Hum- I got lost in my thoughts for a while there, could you please repeat that?"  Khushi asked, another blush blooming over her cheeks at Anjali's soft smile. It was almost as though Anjali knew Khushi had been thinking of her Chote.

"I said that I wanted to go to the Mandir. But I didn't want to go alone. I was wondering, whether you would agree to come with me? Vaise bhi, I need to talk to you about something very important! So will you come with me? We can have our talk in the car." Anjali stated, setting a mock-stern expression on her kind face. Khushi smiled and nodded.

"Haan! Kyun nahin? Of course I'll come with you. Anjaliji it isn't anything too serious is it?"

"Are nahin! Aap pareshan mat huye. Relax. Besides, how man times must I say it? Call me Di, not Anjaliji. You're family!!" Anjali insisted and Khushi nodded, blushing.

"Ok. Teek hai An- Di." Anjali nodded approvingly and adjusted her saree.

"Vaise Shyamji refused to come with me point blank. " Anjali pouted and Khushi felt her chest tighten. She forced a smile on her face as a response and Anjali didn't seem to notice it's tightness or forced nature.

"Hahaha. Hum hain na Di. I'm here. " Khushi said, forcing herself to laugh as Anjali joined in and laughed with her while she agreed on how Khushi was always there for her.

"Pata hai Khushiji. You know what, you're my only true friend. Baki to, I don't know whether
they're after my money or my brother but I never feel like I could trust them with my life. The way I feel with you. " Anjali smiled and gripped Khushis shoulder before she declared that she would be waiting in the car and that Khushi should come soon. Khushi nodded and said she'd be right there after informing her Amma. Anjali nodded and headed off towards the car and Khushi decided then that she had to tell Anjali the truth today. Now. Arnav would understand why she hadn't arrived, he could wait. It was time to come clean. But little did poor Khushi know that a time was approaching, a time much more ominous than the impending truth. A storm was brewing, and Khushi Kumari Gupta was its target.
